Many families choose to decorate their loved one’s quilt square with special details such as a photograph, poem, quote or symbol of the donor’s life. Some are even made from sentimental materials, such as baby blankets, team jerseys or favorite articles of clothing. View our quilt square guidelines for more information.

It takes an average of one year to complete the quilt. During that time, each square (and story, if applicable) can be viewed individually on our website.

Yes. To share a story about your loved one, please send your story to info@mwtn.org. Please limit your story to 100 words. Include your loved one’s name and date of death along with your name, address and phone number.

If you would like to see the quilt displayed at a community event in your area, ask a local organization, hospital or school to call us at 913-262-1668 to request an exhibit. We would be happy to make display arrangements with them.

No, we ask families to make only one square for each donor. You may want to ask other family members for their input when designing your quilt square.
