Midwest Transplant Network realizes medical examiners, coroners, pathologists, and forensic professionals play critical roles in the organ and tissue donation process. MTN collaborates with medical examiners and coroners in the referral and evaluation of potential organ and tissue donors to broaden the donation options for donor families, while preserving evidence for death investigations to determine the cause and manner of death.

The services provided by the MTN Medical Examiner Liaison include:

  • Working collaboratively with Forensic Professionals in caring for the donor families that we serve.
  • Follow-up with county ME offices to insure that all questions and concerns are handled in a timely manner.
  • Active member of the Kansas Medical Liaison Committee and the Missouri Coroners’ and Medical Examiners’ Association.
  • Ongoing participation and attendance at state and regional meetings in Kansas and Missouri.
