Hospital Services
Midwest Transplant Network has a rich history of partnering with area hospitals to bring the gift of life to those in need. This has been a remarkable story of challenge and progress, of responding to hospital, donor and recipient needs and breaking new ground in the understanding and application of transplantation science, medicine, knowledge and technology.
Thus, MTN Hospital Services staff work closely with healthcare professionals at area hospitals, sharing best practices and critical information about organ, tissue, and eye donation. MTN is proud of our health partners for consistently exceeding industry standards of excellence.
In addition to testing new strategies within hospitals, much has improved in the delivery of services. MTN and it’s hospital partners have implemented better referrals process and an effective request process for ensuring the right people are involved in the donation discussion with families.
Continuing education is a critical component of our partnerships with area hospitals. Thus, MTN strives to offer ongoing and affordable continuing education. This can vary from formal classroom seminars to one-on-one visits with physicians and nurses who need current information regarding donation procedures. The primary goal of our Hospital Services staff is to assist each hospital in establishing an effective process to manage the option of donation when a patient dies. This process is often customized to the specific requirements of each hospital and is continually evaluated to achieve desired outcomes.
An MTN staff member is assigned to each hospital in Kansas and western Missouri (see service area map). If you have a question about our services, please call (913) 262-1668 and ask to speak to the coordinator assigned to your hospital.
