Tissue Donation

Donated tissues offer hope for an improved quality of life for recipients. Midwest Transplant Network has a trained team to facilitate tissue recovery for life-enhancing transplants. Tissues are recovered at the hospital or at MTN’s in-house Tissue Recovery Suite to surgically recover tissues in an expeditious manner. This State-of-the-Art Suite maximizes the benefits of the donor’s gift through a number of improved processes and greater efficiency, honoring our donor’s wishes.

Laboratory testing and more stringent federal regulations have made tissue transplantation much safer in the last decade. As a result, surgeons are finding new ways to use tissue transplants to treat diseases and injuries. With more than 500,000 tissue transplantation procedures being done in the U.S. each year, the need for donated tissue continues to grow.
