(Last Updated On: August 18, 2020)

You are invited to join MTN staff and fellow donor families at the Kansas City Zoo for a day of fun, food and friendship.  Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and your tickets will be held for you at the main gate.  You are free to enjoy the zoo for the entire day.  MTN Donor Family events will begin in the Tropics Tent at 10:00 a.m. with lunch being served at 11:30 a.m. Donor Family Day events will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Tropics Tent, located behind the tropics exhibit, just past the sea lions.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will not be able to have our button maker at the zoo. If you wish to have buttons made for future events, please bring a limit of 10 pictures to the zoo and staff will make the buttons and mail them to you once we return to the office.
MTN & The Kansas City Zoo’s top priority is the safety of our donor families, guests, staff, and animals.  As a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19, the Kansas City Zoo is requiring Zoo guests to wear protective face masks in areas where social distancing may not be feasible. This includes all indoor areas (including restrooms), rides, and the bridge to Africa and West Africa. Masks are required for guests 5 and up and strongly recommended for ages 2-4 with close adult supervision. Guests with disabilities or medical conditions that do not allow for face masks to be worn are exempt from this requirement.
To assist with social distancing practices the Kansas City Zoo has closed some space-restricted and high-touch areas. Stingray Bay, lion indoor viewing and the Snake House are currently closed to the public. All other animal habitats are open. Face masks are required in indoor areas. Pathways around the West Africa section of the Zoo and through Australia and Tiger Trail are one-way traffic.  Daily activities such as animal shows and Zookeeper Chats are temporarily suspended but are available virtually with a QR code you can access with your mobile phone or through our web site at www.kansascityzoo.org/virtual-chats. Africa Tram, KCZoo Railroad, and the African Sky Safari are operating daily but may have limited capacity due to physical distancing guidelines. Face masks are required, and seats are disinfected between each ride. The Endangered Species Carousel and Kenyan Cruise are temporarily closed.
